“You were a silent charm,
with comforting arms.
You caught my eyes,
right at the first glance.
Having seen your hypnotic trance,
I can’t help but wonder,
how people ignored you all these days.
My heart throbs,
cursing those unlucky flock;
also, blessing my lucky stars.
We met, had a chat,
and I fell for you with that.
I made my mind and took you home.
I wasn’t wrong. Everyone loved you.
When I sat on your lap,
you started playing to my tune.
I concluded you were mine,
and ran with joy to announce.
But, when I returned,
you gave me a lifetime shock
and unbearable grief.
I was disappointed,
on seeing you treat my sister,
the same way you treated me.
Never did I think,
you’ll be the same to all,
especially Her.
I sadly realized,
you are the apple of my eyes;
But, I’m not the same to you.
Unfortunately, I can’t make you feel
the same way I feel about you.
As I defied your touch in anger,
you sang along for a minute,
and calmed;
It was as if making up your mind,
for the next in line.
Is this rejection just for me,
or for everyone else
who goes crazy about you?
People rightly named you
.

.
The Rocking Chair!”
Rock-hearted you are!
Cheers!

Haha, nice one. And I thought you were referring to Man’s faithful friend, Mr. Dog. 🙂 Nice twist, Anisha.

That’s a very close guess. But, we don’t sit on dog’s lap. Except for that, your choice fits in perfectly! I’m glad you shared this perspective. 🤗

Yea, I was doubtful about that line, but still gave it a go. I wouldn’t have guessed a rocking chair, brilliant. 🙂

A great craft here! Never guessed you were talking about a rocking chair until the last line. Kept on guessing until the last stanza. Keep the charm going, girl. 🙂

Thank you very much, Aashifa. It’s very good to find you on my blog.
The pain was intentionally put up at the front, to make the contrast look more funny. I’m happy that you enjoyed the read. 🙂
Also, I’m sorry for replying late. Your comments unfortunately ended up in spam, and I’m just clearing it after weeks.
Hope to see you around! Take care! ❤
