crepuscular rays
popular daze of blue streaks
musical light show
stellar stars steal the party
as pendulous pearl proceeds

This tanka depicts the twilight scene when crepuscular rays take control of the sky after the sun sets. Alongside the chirping music of birds and the dynamic shades of light rays, stars arrive stealing the show with the moon that appears as a pearl in an unseen pendulum.

once in a blue moon
sadness burdens to harass
freaking aches of heart

demented brain dithers
seized in between the demon
and the deep blue sea

water bed offers
an escape from feeling blue
satiating sorrowed souls

zest of parted friends
oceanic quest quenched offering
a whale of a time

blue ocean ripples
ambience of silent zen
calms mind and body

radiant smiles flare

Glistening twilight
tides talk to tiny islands
through the voice of waves

Memories of life
giggle like the ebbing tides
lovely yet looming

Beach betrays vision
twilight portrays false beauty
of what the day blinds
