Sounds of Silence

They say silence is a source of great strength; so can it be for weakness. When words are replaced with silence, not always does it remain pleasant and comfortable. Sometimes, it haunts with loud shudders of the heart. Yeah, silence has a real sound that is capable of turning truths into lies and projecting illusions as realities. It’s exhausting to the core.

There’s work throughout the day and not enough sleep at night. There are words swallowed and peace slain. The deepest feelings begin to unnerve. Why am I enervated? Is it because of the draining days and sleepless nights? Am I following a dream I didn’t choose to? Am I missing something that I can’t hold? Am I fleeing from my own thoughts? Is what I am running from, the one that I should be running towards? The answers are truly blurred.

Sleep Utopia

As each day ends, I wish I could dive into my chaos energetically rather than drowning pathetically and then watch the movement of water that overpowers me transferring a portion of its energy as our sweet little deal followed by taking a stand against the welcoming winds under the bed of stars preferably boarding over a gently swaying boat that sails over an ambient oceanscape as a lonesome point that is lost in this vast universe born only to find all beauty in the vanishing ripples that reflect the milky white planetoid pumpkin which has mood swings that do not match with mine and afterwards slowly slip into the arms of sleep right in the shimmering open arbour that remains unbarred while listening to the magical stories of umpteen galaxies that hang over and the mellifluous voice of surrounding waves that kiss me good night one by one until that philander with bright dancing rays barges in on my pleasant utopian or sometimes wild dreams forcing me to open my eyes after bulldozing all fantasies written and directed by Nox.

The writing above is an example of the usage of the literary device ‘Polysyndeton’. Nox is the Roman goddess of the night.

——– Take 1 ——–

impeding determined dreams

Addiction

I just realized..

You’ll cost me dearly when you’re gone;
I know the time isn’t so far.

I’ve been dependent,
giving you huge space in my life.

My eyes are tired,
having gazed at you throughout.

My arm aches,
having held you for so long.

With you on bed,
I couldn’t rest.

My life feels so empty;
It has none but you.

You are drained;
So am I.

But still, I’m not letting you go.

It’s time to stop.
This isn’t going to happen anymore.

I should adapt, Continue reading
