“The crimes and ideologies of the past must be rectified at the earliest. The world is a wreck now.”
“If there’s nothing to rectify, will there be any reverence to our service at present times?”
This is in response to the ‘Weekend Writing Prompt’ by Sammi Cox. The word prompt for this week is ‘rectify’, and the challenge is to limit a piece of prose or poem to exactly 35 words.
Nice takes! I loved the second one a bit more!❤❤

Thanks a lot! ❤
I didn’t think of them as two different takes, but just a conversation. I’m glad you shared your perspective. I just noticed that they also hold standalone meaning. 🙂

Your second line! Will there be reverence at all!?

That remains doubtful to me too. There maybe or may not be.

Great take Anisha. Unfortunately both crime and ideologies have only worsened from past to the present, your prescription is the need of the hour!

Thanks a lot, sir!
I believe not all ideologies have worsened, in spite of few carry overs from the past. But I agree, rectification can be a great remedy.

It’s never too late if we cultivate remedial thoughts and start working on them immediately.

Rectifying crimes of the past is important, for past does affect our present to certain degree, whether its an organization or person.
Many ideologies, (especially controversial ones) continue till date, in some form or the other. And history keeps repeating itself, in some way.
Very well penned! 💚💚

I totally agree, Priya. True that past has an effect on the present! Building a world without a past would mean zero experience and hence the requirements of skillsets will be tremendous. So, it is better to accept and rectify the errors than whining about them.
Thank you, Priya! 💚
