Jewels of Women

What do we address as traditional feminine traits, in general?

Patience
Gentleness
Forgiveness
Sensitivity

Are these the qualities that adorn and empower women?

Or, were these imposed on women to keep their voices low?

Aren’t those mentioned above just human traits?

Exactly so, Anisha. These are human traits but were imposed upon women as feminine and weak and what not! We still need to unlearn several things!

Patience,Gentleness,Forgiveness and Sensitivity…these qualities are the main reasons why we still respect women and why we pray women as goddesses … yes,i agree there’s good and bad in everything…still there are some people in this society talking advantages of these qualities and they ill treat them in some way …

True sir, I agree. I didn’t mean to say these qualities shouldn’t be embraced by women, rather manipulating women with these virtues should be stopped.

The question that comes to mind is why are these traits considered feminine? Like you say, they’re human traits. If one person in a couple is expected to manifest them and the other isn’t then it’s about control. But imagine a relationship in which both members were expected to exhibit those traits. Then instead of looking like weakness, it now starts to look, IMO, like mutual respect.

I guess they’re considered feminine, mostly due to the lack of societal approval, Mr. Todd. Your view on exhibiting these traits in a relationship is very true.

Thank you for taking your time to leave an opinion, sir!
